You can now find Rooney on Twitter, the social networking site that allows you to send updates up to 140 characters (called 'tweets') to your friends to let them know what you're up to. This is a great way to stay connected to the band!

Rooney plays Dfest...Tulsa Oklahoma...July 25th

This Friday night, Rooney heads out to Tulsa Oklahoma for a weekend of rock and roll. They will be sharing the stage with The Black Crowes, The Delta Spirit, Mates of State, and a bunch of other cool shit. Be there!!

Tomorrow night at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, Ned, Matt, and Taylor will join Bostonian singer/songwriter Bleu on the last night of his 3 week residency. The Rooney boys will also be playing alongside the legendary Roger Manning Jr. (Jellyfish, Imperial Drag, Beck, Air) and Mike Viola (Candy Butchers, That Thing You Do/The Wonders, Solo record bad assness). The superband known as Mogul will perform songs off some of the aforementioned records so don't miss it! This show will sell out so go to The Hotel Cafe calender website for tickets.

the new record has entered the mixing stage. all of the music is done being recorded, and we have selected the songs that will go onto the album. we are working with a cool mixer, and getting through roughly 1 song per day. this is the finish line folks. new rooney album almost done!

Rooney accoustic show tuesday night!

This just in...Rooney will be playing a special accoustic set at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood Tuesday night!. The set will include songs from the first 2 records as well as some never before played cuts from the upcoming release. In addition, Matt, Ned, and Taylor will also be accompanying Boston transplant and epic power pop troubadour/songrwriter Bleu, who is hosting the evening in celebration of his new record, "A Watched Pot." It's going to be a great night of entertainment. The show starts at 9 p.m. and is 21 and up...sorry kids.

Rooney shoots cameo in new Sofia Coppola Film.

We spent the day at the world famous Chateau Marmont on the set of the new Sofia Coppola film, Somewhere.The movie stars Stephen Dorf and Jackass' Chris Pontius. Though Ned and Louis lost a last minute coin toss to appear in the film, keep you eyes peeled for Matt, Robert, and Tayor. Rumor has it Matt may even have some off the cuff improv. On the Plane

Hey Everyone,
I'm sitting on a Virgin America airplane right now. We're in flight! Yes, and I have net!
I've never done this from the airplane...I guess I've joined the mile high club.
Anyway, I'm on my way home from NYC. It was a good trip and nice to take a breath from the album....however, I listened to it a whole bunch while walking around. When I was writing the first album in NYC, I would walk around NYC listening to music on my walkman CD player. I would write songs, bounce them, and then make a mix. It was exciting to have new music, new creations to take on my stroll. It was like being in a music video. It was cool to do that with the new album.
Hope everyone is good and wants some new tunes!

Rooney plays Conan O'Brien...sort of.

hey everybody. we finished recording our new record as of last night! we're very excited and currently shopping around for the perfect mixer. more on that to come. in the meantime, conan o'brien called and asked us to perform on the test episode for the new and improved "tonight show." of course we said "hell yes" and we will be shooting that on may 27th. it's not actually going to the air but we will be able to use the footage for the web so check back sometime early in june. have a great weekend.
