Kardinal Offishall -->
 Posted 8/7/2008 by IGA UGO.com: Let's get into the new album then. What was your mindset going into Not 4 Sale?
Kardinal Offishall: One thing about me, when it comes to my music, I can only make my music if there is a vibe and a certain energy. I'm not like one of those people that can go in with a concept and just force something out. For me, I just gotta be in a certain environment and vibe. If something happens, it happens, kind of thing. So really and truly, this was an amazing time to record the album. Because emotionally, whenever I felt something or whenever I experienced something, I just jumped in the studio and did a joint. It wasn't necessarily like, "Ok, the album is going to be called Not 4 Sale, we have to do this type of song." We basically recorded for maybe a year and in that time I just did everything. Everybody is obviously not going to be on the album, but I recorded with everybody from the Pussycat Dolls, to De La Soul, to Bobby Creekwater, to Rihanna, to Stat Quo - just so many people and so many different joints. So basically, at the end of the day, one of the hardest things to do was to try and cut it down to 15 songs. I had the most fun recording this time. This was the best time of my life. Basically, everybody that I wanted to record with, it wasn't a problem. We got to do it. For me, it was sick just to be able to do stuff with so many people that you look up to in the business and people that you're fans of. - UGO.com
