A New York State of Mind...

It is with great excitement that we can announce that today marks the U.S. release of The First Days of Spring. In the current technological climate, options abound, and access to the album and film can be sourced through an array of different channels, in varying amounts of media. For the internet savvy, the album is now available to be purchased from Amazon and is downloadable from iTunes, the latter of which rewards you for doing so with a free copy of the film.
For the record stores there is a standard and deluxe version. The standard gives you access to download the 50 minute film by placing the CD in your computer drive and heading over to www.noahandthewhale.com/film where there is also a six song live video performance directed by Vincent Moon. The deluxe edition contains a DVD of the film, on which resides the same bonus content, and the whole package is further bolstered by an additional photo booklet. This hefty tome will adorn our merchandise stand on tour and will be stocked by select indie retailers throughout America (buy now).
In further news for U.S fans, we can now reveal that we are holding a 3 night residency at the famed Mercury Lounge on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November. It is always a pleasure to have any excuse to be in New York, and along with the shows we are relishing the opportunity to spend, (what is at least in touring terms,) an extended period of time in and around the city. Tickets go on sale today and are available from this link. We are equally very excited by screening the film in U.S. cinemas and on the 19th October in Los Angleles at Space 15 Twenty and on the 1st November at Piano's Upstairs Lounge in New York, Charlie will be hosting a Question and Answer session after the film. As always, we are really looking forward to returning to the U.S, and the rest of our gig dates and screenings for America and Canada are listed below. For UK fans we have just announced a one-off show at the legendary Roundhouse in Camden on 12th March for which tickets are now on sale here.
As many of you may now well know, our trailer containing the entire contents of our gear was stolen from a car park opposite our hotel in Manchester early Wednesday morning. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the tremendous amount of news coverage and general support that we received in trying to recover our instruments. Special mention goes to our tour manager, Andy "Zanzibar" Free, and tech guru, Dave "Whiskey" Gilchrist, the oft' unsung heroes of the 'Whale touring machine, for without their industrious professionalism I have no idea how we would have continued with the tour the following night and for the rest of the week. Along with the continuation of the UK tour, this week we will be also appearing on Zane Lowe's show this Wednesday for an interview and performance for which you can tune into between 7 and 9pm.
The show must, and will, go on.
