Tomorrow night at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, Ned, Matt, and Taylor will join Bostonian singer/songwriter Bleu on the last night of his 3 week residency. The Rooney boys will also be playing alongside the legendary Roger Manning Jr. (Jellyfish, Imperial Drag, Beck, Air) and Mike Viola (Candy Butchers, That Thing You Do/The Wonders, Solo record bad assness). This just in...Rooney will be playing a special accoustic set at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood Tuesday night!. The set will include songs from the first 2 records as well as some never before played cuts from the upcoming release. In addition, Matt, Ned, and Taylor will also be accompanying Boston transplant and epic power pop troubadour/songrwriter Bleu, who is hosting the evening in celebration of his new record, "A Watched Pot." It's going to be a great night of entertainment. The show starts at 9 p.m. and is 21 and up...sorry kids.

Hey Everyone,

I'm sitting on a Virgin America airplane right now. We're in flight! Yes, and I have net!

I've never done this from the airplane...I guess I've joined the mile high club.

Anyway, I'm on my way home from NYC. It was a good trip and nice to take a breath from the album....however, I listened to it a whole bunch while walking around. When I was writing the first album in NYC, I would walk around NYC listening to music on my walkman CD player. I would write songs, bounce them, and then make a mix. It was exciting to have new music, new creations to take on my stroll. It was like being in a music video. It was cool to do that with the new album.

Hope everyone is good and wants some new tunes!

hey everybody. we finished recording our new record as of last night! we're very excited and currently shopping around for the perfect mixer. more on that to come. in the meantime, conan o'brien called and asked us to perform on the test episode for the new and improved "tonight show." of course we said "hell yes" and we will be shooting that on may 27th. it's not actually going to the air but we will be able to use the footage for the web so check back sometime early in june. have a great weekend.

Hey y'all.It's Robert here. It's 1230 AM in Los Angeles. Everything in the studio is going well. I go through all the songs at the end of the days and make my own record sequence. It's cool to listen to how each song flows into the next and to hear them all together as one album. I couldn't be more happy with how it's all sounding. We want to release new music this year, it's been our goal. Leaving the label was a huge relief, it took time, but we're finally, officially, free! Now it's time to get dirty!!! It's a whole new world out there and we're just getting to know it. We'd like to organize some sort of live chat with fans...still figuring out how we're gonna do it. Any ideas? Since we're now label-less, send us any ideas for releasing the next album. And remember, there are no rules these days.Love to all, Robert

On April 24, 2009, a new show, Iron Man: Armored Adventures will be launching on the Nicktoons Network, and Rooney lent their talents to recording the theme song! The music video will begin airing on March 29, and a full episode sneak peek will be available online April 17.

as u may know, we are the house band for the vh1 critics choice awards, broadcasting live on jan 8. this week we are holed up in a rehearsal room preparing the music. we will be playing well-known cover songs, mainly from the 70's and 80's. we will also be doing plenty of rooney songs from our 2 records, as well as debuting some new tunes that we recently recorded. this is a fun job. it seems like a lot of work, but its actually going very smoothly and painlessly. yesterday we focused on the covers, today we'll focus on the rooney music. it good to have the 5 of us in a room together, plugged in and playing loud after the holiday break. tune in (or set ur tivo) and listen/look for rooney. --taylor

geez, sorry for the long time since we gave up the current info but man, we've been secretly busy since we finished the summer tour. we wrote a bunch of songs, produced some other bands, built a studio, bought a house, bought a dog, got another dog, hung out, played some one offs, and most importantly, started our new record. that's right, we started our new record. we're now entering week 2, we've cut 6 songs, and they are killer. you shall love them in time, until then, goodnight. stay tuned for some studio photos coming very soon. thanks for sticking around.
