After finishing a brief European festival jaunt with our friends in AFI, we knew we all needed to get back on a stage together soon. So we're bringing the party to San Diego. The lyrics on , "Grammatizator", were inspired by a Roald Dahl short story. It harkens back to not only our early days as a band, but the early days of punk. The days of ROIR cassettes, Bad Brains, and Black Flag found their way into our musical upbringing and years later poured into this song. We hope you enjoy hearing them half as much as we enjoyed creating them.
The B-Side, "Hero Of War" - live at H.O.B. Boston" has become one of the many benchmarks in our own time as a band, it has stirred the hearts of many. It was a story gasping for air and we gave it life on our most recent record, Appeal To Reason, before it took on a life of it's own in the last year and sparked dialogue throughout our fan base and beyond.
It was a warm summer night in Boston, the Red Sox were playing the A's, and across Landsdowne St, we were sweating and screaming with 2400 people on the second night of our two sold out shows at the House Of Blues. Cameras were on hand to document the noisy evening and, starting Oct 16th ( and for the next 5 fridays after that), we are going to leak some of the footage for you to check out on your at&t phone until Nov 20th (look for the CV Live Music Featured Video), when the entire show will be available online (but only for three days) at www.youtube.com/music .
